The time is near!

Just a quick post to remind everyone that Artful Gathering 2011 is about to commence! Classes start July 16th. Have you seen the teacher lineup? It's fabulous! Drawing, painting, collaging, bookmaking, journaling, jewelry, dollmaking, tool-using. Well, the one BAD thing about this event is choosing which classes to take! Today I'm leaning toward Jodi Ohl's class "Mixed Faux Encaustic Discovery." It's the type of art I want to focus on... but tomorrow I may change my mind. Good thing it's online and seats won't "sell out." I wish I could take all the classes... but alas, I'm not independently wealthy (yet) and I'm currently taking "21 secrets" and want to take a class at the upcoming CREATE event when it comes near my hometown in August.

In addition to this 'what class to take' conundrum, I'm very excited that ARTISTCELLAR is a sponsor of Artful Gathering! We have a very nice sponsor page over there, and if you leave a comment for me at the bottom of the page, you'll be eligible for a drawing for FREE goodies! I've put together an "appetizer platter" that includes a bottle of colorwash spray, a distress stain, a stencil, a jar of Stewart Gill Byzantia paint, and a pack of fibers. And I'm talking full size stuff... not mini-samples. So be sure the stop by, check out Artistcellar's sponsor page and leave a comment over there. The drawing will be very soon, Zinnia is working on the video right now. Here's a picture of the prize:
And this is only the FIRST giveaway prize. There are more giveaways to come. Other sponsors are also giving away prizes so be sure to visit them too!

See you there!!

And the Winner Is... Giveaway

I just wanted to take a quick post to let you know that my very own "random name generator" (the kid) picked a name out of the proverbial hat and we have a winner for the Artistcellar Newsletter Giveaway. And the winner is.....   ART EXPRESSIONS!  Congratulations Art, I will contact you privately for your mailing address and the Moonlight Mermaid bottle of paint will be swimming to you shortly!
For those of you who have no clue as to what I'm talking about... in my Artistcellar Newsletter I enticed people to leave a comment on my blog post about painting fabric with Stewart Gill Paints. It was kind of sneaky, I know. But stay tuned... I have about 5 more bottles of this paint left and I found that I love giving it away... and you never know where or when the next giveaway will be :-D

One World, One Heart

It's that time of year again and I'm very excited to participate in this journey! I discovered One World, One Heart last year when I hopped from blog to blog and met so many wonderful artists. What is OWOH you ask? It's like a worldwide blog party that lasts for several weeks. You check out people's blogs, drool over all the eye candy and inspiration, leave a comment and maybe win fabulous prizes. You can read all about it at the One World One Heart website. If you're thinking about joining this year, get to it! Sadly, it's the last year it's happening.

On with the show! I want to welcome you to RandomVeracity (AKA) Life. Truth. Art. I am a wife, mother, friend, online shop owner and mixed media artist. Among other things. I've had this blog about 16 months now and really enjoy sharing my art and thoughts with all my online friends. On this blog you'll find photography, quilts, mixed media art, rock stars, and random thoughts. Not necessarily in that order.

It was really hard coming up with a giveaway prize because I love to do so many things but I think I got it. I'm going to give away a book called Spilling Open by Sabrina Ward Harrison...
AND a gorgeous little journal handmade by Yours Truly. It has thick watercolor paper pages and is wire bound.
AND this little journaling kit with all kinds of goodies to help you on your way to fill your new journal. It has vintage book pages, 3 jars of yummy paint, fibers, a stamp, several items you can stencil with, some textural fabrics, paper and crocheted doilies.
Leave a comment to be included in the drawing that will be held on February 17th. Please make sure I have a way to contact you if you win, either through your own blog or an email.

Let the games begin! Thank you for visiting my blog, have fun, and good luck!!
